Poha india ki sab se ziada pasand ki jaane wali
dish he jise pakistan mein aur afghanistan usa mein bhi pasand kia ja raha he
Here’s a delightful recipe for
Poha, a beloved Indian dish made from flattened rice.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flattened rice (poha)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1-2 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup peanuts (optional)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
- 1/4 cup boiled potatoes, diced (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Cooking Tips:
1. Rinse the Poha: Start by rinsing the flattened rice in water. Drain it well and let it sit for about 10 minutes. This helps soften the poha without making it mushy.
2. Tempering: In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then, add cumin seeds, followed by peanuts. Sauté until the peanuts turn golden brown.
3. Sauté Vegetables: Add the chopped onions and green chilies to the pan. Sauté until the onions become translucent. If using, add the diced boiled potatoes at this stage.
4. Spice it Up: Stir in turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
5. Combine Poha: Add the rinsed poha to the pan. Gently mix everything together, ensuring the poha is coated with the spices. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on low heat.
6. Finishing Touches: Turn off the heat and add lemon juice and sugar (if using). Mix well and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
7. Serve Hot: Enjoy your Poha warm, paired with a cup of tea or coffee!
This simple yet flavorful dish is perfect for breakfast or a light snack. Enjoy cooking!
